West Highland Yachting Week
End of July to Early August 2011

This historic and unique sailing regatta is now in its 64th year. It has evolved into the West Coast's second biggest sailing event taking in 3 venues, Craobh, Oban and Tobermory. 750+ competitors from around the world enjoy national and local media coverage.

The event has evolved a distinctive blend of competitive racing combined with a varied and full programme of family social events. Merlin of Clyde previously managed by Enterprise Sailing and then owned By Rolls Royce plc has taken part over the past few years. We will be offering places on our larger yacht Goshawk on a first contact, first taken basis.

Welcome Aboard!

Yacht in West Highland Yachting WeekThis is one of the leading international yachting events, in stunning surroundings, with a winning combination of round the buoys and passage racing, supported by an excellent social programme.

Unlike many other events, West Highland Week encourages competitors to enter for individual races if they do not want to take part in the whole Series. Some choose to enter only for the passages races, or just one race or even a Feeder Race before going off on a cruise.

In addition to spinnaker classes, four restricted sail classes are offered which attract skippers with limited experience, crew or equipment. Whilst these classes also suit the yachts with small children aboard, some of the most competitive crew members are the children themselves!

Many of the competitors are infrequent racers, often first timers and the Committee is always delighted to encourage those dipping a toe into racing waters for the first time.

Most classes are based on the Clyde Yacht Clubs Association (CYCA) Handicap System, but IRC racing is also offered for some of the faster yachts.

A fun-filled week on land and sea. Be sure to be there!
